Jill Vancil Named 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year

To kick off this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week, we are THRILLED to announce that our 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year has been crowned. AND THE WINNER IS…none other than Ms. Jill Vancil!

Jill was nominated for this prestigious award by her very own peers at JSA, who recognized her commitment, dedication, work ethic, and positive attitude. These are traits that are easily identifiable even if you spend just a few short minutes with Jill. She is an “OG” at JSA as she has been here for over TEN YEARS, and during that time has seen both the school and the students grow in tremendous ways.

In her most recent role overseeing the Pre-Vocation classroom, Jill has paved the way for our students to become more independent in both their home and community. She helped create JSA’s newest business model, “Spectrum Essentials,” in which the pre-vocation students create, package, and sell health and beauty products. She continues to do an INCREDIBLE job of always keeping her students engaged and finding innovative ways to teach them new skills.
