JSA is creating meaningful and impactful opportunities for individuals with differing abilities by enrichment and preparation for their future. JSA is proud to announce the employment of one of our students in the S.T.E.P. (Supportive Transition and Employment Placement) Vocation Program!
Antonio is our first student to go through the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) process with JSA and to start On the Job Training (OJT). OJT helps people with differing abilities to get acclimated to the employment environment while gaining valuable work experience. Antonio will have the opportunity to experience being in the real work environment at JSA. The skills that he will be working on are:
· Maintaining record and inventory of cleaning supplies
· Stocking – replenishes cleaning supplies in restrooms, office areas and classrooms
· Cleaning general areas and restrooms.
Antonio will be going through the process of signing in and out of work and following a checklist as he works towards independence. Antonio enjoys working and often shares with staff that he wants to work to earn his own money. This opportunity will be Antonio’s first paid job experience and he was very excited to start his new job!
